We could not help but dig a bit deeper into the recent documents released by the CIA pertaining to UFO’s as detailed in a FOIA request from The Black Vault. This time around we ran a topic extraction analysis. We must again state this is a beyond-normal challenging set of documents due to the sheer volume of repeating alpha character patterns that are found in most documents as part of the CIA’s structure of memos. In fact, if we didn’t know any better, the odd combination of what are seemingly random letters strung together are nothing of the sort. They appear more frequently than logical word combinations such as “Soviet Union.” One example is “PAXINBUA BTUEPAMSG.” This means something to someone. It appears 149 times with a high TD-IDF of 354.0. Or, “QL EEEEE HKAEE AA” that appears 190 times with a very high TD-IDF of 451.4. These word combinations are like ciphers that mean something to CIA, military and other US Intel personnel. To us they appeared as an obvious code system. A quick Internet search proved this to be true. They’re referred to as Cryptonyms and they are fascinating puzzles in and of themselves. The meaning of many cryptonyms are STILL UNKNOWN.
We searched PAXINBUA BTUEPAMSG. No results found.

QL EEEEE HKAEE AA yielded results but only from the common double usage of the “A” character.

If the reader has any further knowledge of how cryptonyms function or can provide definitions of the 2 examples cited in this post please contact us at researchmetron@gmail.com or drop a comment on this post. At some future point we will post the entire list of cryptonyms we found inside these declassified documents.
How both crytponym cited examples appear in the Topic Extraction analysis.

From the Topic Analysis, the second most used phrase in all the documents is “Full Text Superzone Message.” Huh? We tried to logically assume this was common phrase that applied to most intelligence documents. We assumed it would be easy enough to find other example of this phrase in documents outside of this corpus based on UFOs. We were wrong. Typing the phrase into a search engine linked us back to some of the very documents and images of said documents that are part of downloaded package from the CIA. This implies the phrase is unique to this set of public, declassified, documents supplied by the CIA. That is not to state it does not exist in documents within the organization that pertain to different topics. If you know what this phrase means, drop us a line at researchmetron@gmail.com

Based on our spot check of documents and the 16th most used Topic phrase “Program Television Summary” it is established that much of the intelligence gathering contained in these documents was the result of… watching large amounts of Soviet television programs. The Keywords represent the words most associated when the phrase “Program Summary Television” appears. This is logical, the most efficient way to gather information with next to no friction on a foreign adversary in the 50’s to early 90’s is to watch their television programming, not just their news, but their documentaries and general programming.
