NLP Analysis: Jacques Vallee

Project Name: PROJECTVALLEE

Project: NLP analysis of a corpus consisting of books, papers, and presentations authored by Jacques Vallee.

Corpus: PDF, HTML, TXT document types. 19 total documents.

Description: Famed UFO researcher Jacques Vallee has contributed a massive and important body of scientific research for decades. He is still actively researching today and at age 82 shows no signs of slowing down. His latest book is Trinity: The Best Kept Secret.

Word Cluster Dendrogram

Below is the largest word cluster set from the analysis. A dendrogram of the words associated with “UFO” and “Phenomenon” details the cluster of words most used in close proximity when those words are used. The rate of measurement is by paragraph, rate per 10,000 words analyzed.

Dendogram of largest word cluster found in the analysis.

So that the reader may get a better sense of how the word cluster dendrogram works this example below portrays logically associated words in close proximity to each other within the corpus of documents.

Link Analysis Diagram

Using the same set of cluster words the dendrogram was applied to, we next ran a link analysis seen below. It is interesting the word, “problem” is frequently associated in proximity to the core words. More on that later.

Central usage of the word “phenomenon” is revealing, not just because this is obviously the nature of UFOs. Phenomenon is essentially the best word to capture the essence of the UFO topic. It is no surprise to us, Metron Deep Research has been using “The Phenomenon” as a titular descriptor of the UFO puzzle. And recently a documentary on the subject has debuted titled, “The Phenomenon” by filmmaker James Fox.

Link analysis of the word proximity clusters associated with “UFO” and “Phenomenon.”

Word Frequency/Word Cloud

The word cloud reveals interesting associations. “French” can be explained by Vallee’s country of origin, his interaction with both the government of France and noted, pioneer researcher Aime Michel, a mentor to Vallee. The very common occurrence of this word is no surprise. A similar circumstance with, “Hynek.” J. Allen Hynek was also Vallee’s mentor who employed Vallee in his later days with Project Blue Book and a trusted friend.

A list measured by a rate of word frequency per 10,000 words.

Topic Modeling

Topic modeling is a machine learning technique that’s capable of scanning a set of documents, detecting word and phrase patterns within them, and automatically clustering word groups and similar expressions that best characterize a set of documents.

Observation: White-Sun (White; Sun; Black; Looked; Small; Red)

“White, Sun” is identified as a recurring topic with associated words black, red, looked, and small. In the corpus, the 2 main colors mentioned are white and blue. Sometimes “whitish-blue” when Vallee describes cases that came to his attention. In about half the instances, the color white is used in mundane usage as a descriptor of the color of a house, a dress, dust, etc. Red is more frequently used as a color associated with UFO sightings. Shapes are typically described as small or large. Red, white and blue, at least as far as this analysis is concerned are the most common colors associated with the UFO sightings Vallee discusses in the corpus. Again, it should be mentioned this analysis does not include every single item written by Vallee whether be books are scientific papers or transcripts but it is certainly a significantly large segment of his material in print.

Observation: UFO-Problem (Problem; Scientific; Scientists; Facts; Public; UFO Problem;)

Vallee frequently refers to the “UFO Problem” in his works as a vexing puzzle for the scientists and the public to grasp. Anyone involved in this research would likely agree. But Vallee understands that UFOs are indeed highly problematic for governments, militaries, science institutions, and the public they serve because they present incredible contradictions, opaqueness, elusiveness in their attributes yet pose potentially massive ramifications for power structures and societal mentalities.

About facts, Vallee has this to say, “The passage of time is highly corrosive. Not only does it erase from our memory facts, dates, and figures, but erodes even perception of those human beings who have made an impact on our lives, and distorts our view of ourselves. A diary, kept religiously enough, a formidable weapon against erosion. also makes our shortcomings more obvious, failures more plain.”

We cannot agree more. Keeping a diary of ideas, efforts, events, and thoughts are absolutely vital to the UFO researcher.

Observation: Janine, Olivier (Children, yesterday)

Any reading of Vallee’s work, especially his diaries will make evident the man’s devotion to his wife and children. They are the foundation of his world. Vallee frequently comments on his observations of his family and details their activities. It is clear they are a motivation for his work as demonstrated in their word frequency ranking. Indeed they are discussed more frequently than most UFO-related commentary. Additionally interesting is the frequency of the usage of “spent evening.” Another bedrock of the Vallee operation is the intense frequency of social interaction. Vallee is the consummate networker in the fields of science, government, phenomenology, military, paranormal and more. His access to diverse professionals across the spectrum of fields intersecting with the phenomenology of UFOs is a vital key to his impact as a preeminent researcher.

Observation: Shaped Object, Feet off the ground

Frequency usage of these words is indicative of the constant collection of observation data. The shape of UFO objects is one of the most important attributes to record. A library of various shapes can be found in various publications, including Vallee’s work. Metron Deep Research also mines for shape patterns, though this is not a groundbreaking idea, it is important to continue analyzing this data for pattern analysis. UFO types of shapes have indeed changed over the decades since the 1947 Kenneth Arnold sighting. Disc and orb shapes gave rise to increases in triangle, cigar, and star shapes. Shape and height off the ground are perhaps the most common first questions asked by the field researcher. Vallee is very much interested in the various attributes of the UFO observation/event. So complete is his line of inquiry that this led him to our next observation point for discussion.

Observation: Psychic Phenomena, Physical (Physical; Phenomena; Psychic; Reality; Phenomenon; Psychic Phenomena, UFO Phenomenon, Physical Reality; Physical Craft; Physica Objects)

Of the Valle theoretical assertions, perhaps the most important is the recognition that the UFO phenomenon may be fundamentally psychic in nature with the ability to manifest itself into the physical consensus reality of its witnesses and percipients.

Vallee’s research leads the field to the inescapable conclusion that the “nuts and bolts” spaceship extraterrestrial hypothesis (ETH) cannot fully explain the phenomenon. And he makes this point relentlessly in his work. A reading of his first book, Challenge to Science, goes nowhere near this idea. Vallee’s initial research, heavily influenced and guided by J. Allen Hynek during his Project Blue Book tenure, focused on ETH, but with an eye on following the data where it leads. It is ironic that such a hard data-driven science approach to the subject would ultimately lead to the conclusion that the phenomenon is based in areas of limited human understanding that are outside of scientific categorization and more rooted in the realms of magic and paranormal high-strangeness. But one person’s magic could be another species’ high-technology. As proposed by Vallee, and later others, the UFO behavior may be explainable within the field of quantum physics – an area where research has shown, high strangeness of particle behavior, time, space, cause and effect abound.

Conclusion (For now)

The analysis yields insights in line with expectations from analysis performed by a reader of the corpus. For those not familiar with Vallee’s work, or who have not read much of it, this analysis will likely be of more value. In short, this is a polite way of saying the initial analysis didn’t yield big surprises or illuminations. However, this is only a general holistic study of the material, and it is incomplete of the total works of Jacques Vallee. There are still insights to glean from a deeper dive of the material focused on specific attributes that when applied to the larger data repository will yield pattern recognition in the data. Some examples include the contribution this corpus will make to shapes, colors, time of day, witnesses, and other categorized attributes that will collectively contribute to the wider body of understanding this most peculiar and vexing of phenomena.

There is so much more to come.

Thoughts on Zodiacs, Mandalas, and Circles.

This is an Egyptian zodiac depicting a period of time in the heavens believed by scholars to be between 6540 B.C. to 4380 B.C.

It is known as the Denderah zodiac and is held in the Louvre museum. It was located by the West in the time of Napoleon when he visited Egypt.

There is evidence the Egyptians were influenced by the Sumerians’ knowledge of the zodiac. Keep in mind they were not writing horoscopes on the daily clay tablets as the primary function of this tool. It was believed to be devised as a tracking device of the stars and planet’s movement through the observable sky through time in relation to the Earth’s position.

No one knows exactly where or who created the first zodiac but the earliest beginnings of the concept may date back to Palaeolithic man at the Lascaux cave complex in southwestern France. There, a bull is painted with what appear to be the Pleiades stars and other stars pertinent to that location (what we today call Taurus). The Greeks, Babylonians, Hindus, Chinese, and many, many more cultures of the ancient world created zodiacs. As such, it should be considered one of the most successful universal concepts knowledge-transferred throughout humanity in history. But was it passed from one culture to another by trade routes, expeditions and the like? It is not known or recorded how the zodiac idea was passed from one culture to another. Or is it universal human ideation from a collective shared consciousness?

My train of thought additionally wanders to the similarities between this ornate zodiac, and others like it, and the mandala. The mandala is thought to have been invented by Buddhists in the 4th century. It too is a kind of map depicting layers of spiritual stages, deities, and traditions. Indeed, I think the Denderah can be mistaken as a mandala to the untrained eye.

The basic deconstructed commonality of the mandala and the zodiac is the circle shape. The circle is perhaps the most universal and basic form known to humanity. It’s the shape of the sun and the moon. Our planet and the wheel. It existed before the physical wheel was invented. Pythagoras described the circle as the most perfect of creative forms, without beginning or end, without sides or corners. He dubbed it the “monad” and associated it with monotheism and the number “1.” It may very well be the first symbol conceived and used by humanity. Who drew the first circle in the sand? We will never know. But it launched a massive shift in the way we interpret and interact with the universe.

Journal Entry: Picasso, Braque, Cubism and the Extreme Psychological Reaction of the UFO Experience

When Braque saw Picasso’s first Cubist painting “Les Demoiselles d’Avignon” in his studio, he had a reaction that could be defined as transcendent or closely mystical in its effect. He didn’t not know how to mentally process the extreme novelty of the artwork, so overwhelmed was he by the paradigm smashing nature the painting represented. From this, it sparked Braque’s instinctual awareness of “Cubist thought” and thus he too joined as the other primary vanguard of Cubist painting with Picasso.

I wrote this here to remind myself that upon reading this account in the Taschen book, Modern Art it made me recall the Canary Islands ‘76 mass UFO sighting. And other sightings in that the observers and sometimes participants have a reaction similar to that of Bracque upon viewing Picasso’s first Cubist-style painting. Is it really so different? Bracque was unable to process it mentally at first, so alien were the mechanics, visual and symbolic constructions of the painting. But afterward, Bracque came to understand the dynamics of Cubism and began forging ahead into this new form of art to become one of its founders alongside Picasso.

It is a similar effect documented with percipients of the UFO experience. Theirs is a reaction of astonished confusion and existential discordance initially as they try to process the unreality of the experience that now presents itself as real. In many, many cases, afterward the subjects become more inquisitive, spiritually inclined, personality changes manifest, in some cases increase in intelligence and creativity manifests, some become standard bearers of the UFO investigative and research effort (think J. Vallee who saw a ufo in France as a child). The aftereffects on people are profound. This to me, is where we will likely find the ability to define the true nature of the phenomenon.

Studying UFOs: Data Challenges, Facts & Analysis Approach

In conversation a few weeks ago I discussed the analysis plan for Metron Deep Research with a friend of mine. I told him, each analysis, taken as a subset corpus from the Primary repository stands on its own as having the potential to glean interesting insights. But each silo of analysis is likely to be only a piece of the larger puzzle. In some cases each silo subset corpus is a study of a complex system with its own inputs, outputs, feedback loops, attributes and metrics. A nested holon within the larger system. The larger system is a completed puzzle, hopefully. As with the jigsaw puzzle, one doesn’t require every piece to fit in order to understand what picture it represents. A similar idea applies with the game show, Wheel of Fortune. A few missing letters still reveals an obvious phrase. Here again as is relevant is so many other facets of life, the 80/20 rule applies.

When studying the UFO phenomenon (note I use UFO and UAP interchangeably) a unique set of challenges present themselves. There is possibly no other field of study that represents such a mountain of data in various forms that compares to Ufology. Meterology and Archaeology may be comparable.

Consider financial data – this data consists primarily of numbers, dates, ratios and other calculations. In Ufology, data may represent physical evidence, time/dates, weather conditions, veracity of witnesses, photographic/video analysis, visual observations (drawings and descriptions), geospatial data, flight patterns and historical air traffic data.

UFOs transcend the boundaries of our reality boxes and thus demand multidimensional levels of data and situational analysis. There is no singular master-repository for all this data. It exists in hundreds, possibly thousands of locations held by both public and private entities, including the governments and militaries of the world, UFO research groups and, we know now, aerospace and technology corporations.

Still, there is a multitude of data available on the Internet today. And new information appears faster now. It seems there is almost a weekly successful FOIA request or new observational data uploaded to various Ufology sites or becoming breaking news.

When I consider analysis of UAP I ask what are the basic established facts today?

  1. UAP exists
  2. We don’t know with certainty what UAP are
  3. We don’t know the origin and purpose of UAP
  4. UAP exhibit intelligent control
  5. UAP exhibit transmedium flight and movement suggesting advanced propulsion and technology that per our current understanding, they may transcend our knowledge of the laws of physics
  6. Close encounters with UAP can incur physiological effects on humans
  7. Close encounters with UAP can incur pyschological effects on humans
  8. Physical proximity of UAP can incur effects on soil, vegetation – it can be a physical phenomenon

The nice thing about established facts is that they are useful as starting points for deeper research. More details on the facts will warrant further discussion in additional posts.

What Does The Briefing Card Say?

It behooves citizens to understand the methods the government uses to communicate with the public. Government official communication needs to be on point and on topic, disseminated across the various agencies and officials who engage with the public, mostly via the news media.

This is both good and bad. Good because there are so many moving parts to government that messaging can easily get lost, diverted or become inaccurate as information is gathered, assessed, relayed and meanings assigned. Anyone who works in a large corporation is probably familiar with this situation. There is no sense in having communications if you cannot ensure the integrity of the information and messaging. Developing events will of course force changes in the messaging as new information develops. Thus new messages must be crafted for dispersement to the audience.

This can be bad because by its very nature of required rigidity it doesn’t allow for much free-thinking, reasonably contemplated and well intentioned as it may be, by the messengers. Press secretaries, official spokespeople, elected officials are expected to  stay within the parameters of the government constructed message-narrative.

To keep public speakers in line with the correct messaging, “briefing cards” are given to those who speak to a public audience. Take a look at this example below obtained by The Black Vault regarding the government’s forthcoming UAP investigation program.

UAP Report to Congress May 17, 2021

Executive Summary

Public and news media interest in unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs) remains high. DoD formally established a UAP Task Force (UAPTF), per the FY19 NDAA, on Aug. 4, 2020. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence (SSCI) report attached to the FY21 Intelligence Authorization Act (signed into statute as part of the omnibus spending bill signed on Dec. 27, 2020) directed the Director of National Intelligence, in consultation with SECDEF, to submit a report to Congress on UAPs within 180 days of enactment. The SSCI report specifically mentions the UAPTF. Recently (@March 20-21), John Ratcliffe, former DNI, spoke with Fox News about the report, generating multiple queries asking for DoD comment on his claims in the interview. CBS “60 Minutes” aired a segment on May 16 on DoD’s efforts to examine UAPs.

Top Line Messages / Talking Points

We are aware of the report requirement, and the UAPTF team is actively working with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence on the report. I refer you to ODNI for anything else regarding the report.

We take reports of incursions into our airspace – by any aircraft, identified or unidentified – very seriously, and investigate each one.  Safety (of our personnel) and security (of our operations) are of paramount concern.

To protect our people, maintain operational security and safeguard intelligence methods, we do no publicly discuss the details of the UAP observations, the task force or examinations.

Questions and Answers

Q. Has the Department found any evidence of extraterrestrial technology?

A. The examinations into incursions by UAPs are still ongoing; the Department does not comment on intelligence matters.

Q: Do you have any comment on the remarks made by John Ratcliffe to Fox News about the forthcoming UAP report?

A. As he was the former DNI, and ODNI has the lead on the UAP report, I refer you to ODNI.

Q. Why did you establish the UAPTF?

A. The Department of Defense established the UAPTF to improve its understanding of, and gain insight into, the nature and origins of UAP incursions into our training ranges and designated airspace. The Task Force is focused on a data-driven approach to identify the source of the incursions. We need data (from increased reporting by aviators, technical means, etc.) to analyze in order to understand and draw the appropriate conclusions and to make the appropriate recommendations to leadership. As we collect additional data, we expect to close the gap between identified and unidentified and avoid strategic surprise regarding adversary technology.

Q. Why did the Navy change its reporting guidelines on UAPs?

A. We are using a data-driven approach. Sometimes, there are phenomenon for which we don’t have sufficient data. We wanted to establish an environment where our force feels comfortable reporting all observations so we can collect data, make informed determinations, and address our findings.

Q. Can you tell us anything about what the UAPTF has found so far?

A. We do not comment on intelligence matters.

Q. Why can’t you tell us anything about UAPs or what the UAPTF is doing?

A. DoD does not provide information about operational or intelligence activities that would identify possible U.S. vulnerabilities.

Q. What budget does the UAPTF have?

A: As the lead agency, the U.S Navy identifies and uses appropriated defense funding to meet UAPTF requirements.

Additional Background Information (Not for Release)

Except for its existence, and the mission/purpose, virtually everything else about the UAPTF is classified, per the signed Security Classification Guide (SCG).

Additional Talking Points on the UAPTF

DOD has established a UAP task force to gain knowledge and insight into the nature and origins of UAP incursions into our training ranges and designated airspace.

The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze, and catalog UAPs that could potentially pose a threat to U.S national security.

The Department of Defense maintains numerous activities to collect data to build accurate operating pictures and inform decision-making. The UAPTF is another DOD tool that uses data to improve understanding of operating environments and support relevant policies.  Previously, the services investigated UAP reports separately. The UAPTF provides an opportunity to better network and standardize those processes.

The mission of the task force is to detect, analyze and catalog UAPs that could pose a threat to U.S. national security.  Sometimes, there are phenomena for which we do not have sufficient data. We want to set an environment where our force feels comfortable reporting all observations so we can collect data, make informed determinations, and address our findings.

Now, after reading this card, which appears to have been created in response to former DNI chief Radcliff’s comments on Fox News and the 60 Minutes report that featured Luis Elizondo, Cmdr. David Fravor, Lt. Cmdr. Alex Dietrich and Christopher Mellon, could you fill an 8 minute segment on a news program or even a 20 minute press conference event with this information at your disposal? Most certainly so, even with minimal public speaking training.

The card is well written and structured. Now imagine how may other cards like this are sent to government officials everyday as events warrant on a wide range of news, policy and military topics.

On the topic of UAP the government keeps its messaging very structured. It has to. No other topic can veer out of control like UAP/UFO can. Note, this doesn’t mean we are saying the narratives being constructed are appropriate. This is not an editorial. But when one reads an example like this in the context of the government now willing to openly deal with and discuss the UAP reality; a reality that is coming slightly more into focus each month, it isn’t hard to understand why the messages they convey to the public need to be kept in certain narrative lanes. If not, we could have information-chaos within the official channels of the public sphere and return to speculations running wild on the UFO topic.

“We’re not saying it’s aliens… but it’s Other.”

From the DNI Preliminary Assessment of UAP report:

Other: Although most of the UAP described in our dataset probably remain unidentified due to limited data or challenges to collection processing or analysis, we may require additional scientific knowledge to successfully collect on, analyze and characterize some of them. We would group such objects in this category pending scientific advances that allowed us to better understand them. The UAPTF intends to focus additional analysis on the small number of cases where a UAP appeared to display unusual flight characteristics or signature management.

Some opinions, if we may…

It is clear the report left the door wide open a number of follow-up possibilities. Mainly the call for further scientific study of UAP, presumably funded mostly by the federal government but we see no reason independent academia and consortia such as the SCU cannot participate. In fact, the more serious research done outside the influence of the federal government, the better, for obvious reasons the reader doesn’t need rehashed here.

Nowhere does the word “alien” or “extraterrestrial” appear in the report. See, Other.

One would expect the budget of the UAPTF to increase. Possibly dramatically. The public deserve to know what they find. We shall see. Transperancies, such to the extent we get them at all, shift their gradients with the coming and going of presidents and bureacrats.

Those independent UFO researchers outside the govermnmental sphere should take heart. The Feds have officially joined the party (again) and lets be hopeful there is solid data and results shared to the extent that national security is not compromised, of course. Of course?

One of the best achivements in all of this is that the dime has turned in the mainstream media. Take a look at this, and consider the audience it is intended to inform. Hint, it is not the usual sensationalistic reporting on the subject.

https://www.cnn.com/videos/business/2021/07/23/ufo-report-national-security-threat-jm-gr-orig.cnn/video/playlists/business-originals-counterprogramming/

It is interesting. UFOs have been repackaged and remarketed by the US Military/Infotech industry in sheathes of “baffling technology,” “potential threat,” “hazard to US airspace,” “adversary,” and “other.” It is true, those leading the charge to find the truth, now the Elizondo/Mellon/Corbell Axis of Information, have couched the subject in the very terms the DNI report used. One may recall the previous Axis of Information was the Elizondo/Mellon/DeLonge trinity, but somewhere along the way DeLonge got expelled and has been replaced by Corbell. We are not impugning the sincerity of their intentions, merely making interesting observations based on the ongoing analysis of the situation.

Whatever misgivings or trust issues stalwart UFO researchers may have regarding the DNI report, it should be considered a mostly positive event. Additional focus on the phenomenon by the media, citizenry of the US and the world is helpful to furthering the cause of clearing a path toward a better understanding of the truth behind this most befuddling of puzzles. As this blog has stated recently, even those who believe, should possibly pause and give deeper thought to the ramifications to the reality that there exists an “Other” category of intelligence and capability.

Memes: An Objective?

In an interview with scientist Peter Reali, a member of the Scientific Coalition for UAP Studies,  he mentioned his interest in an eventual pursuit of aeronautics, math and science was spurred by the film, “Rocketship XM” that he viewed in his childhood.

It is interesting that you often get answers like this from people whose life path was set at an early age by exposure to just one catalyst form of entertainment such a movie or book. We tend to think that exposure to strings of memes within entertainment doesn’t influence our behavior. We can often spot them and decide to accept or reject them based on our current sleight of prioritized internal biases.

Jacques Vallee often speaks of the UFO phenomenon as a type of control system. To which I used to think, as a control system, the UFO experience isn’t very effective. The effects of the phenomenon appeared too subtle and the number of observers/witnesses mostly in the low total count aside from mass sightings that are not as common.

When you think in terms of downstream exponential cause and effect combined with the growing number of witnesses, let’s say since 1947 when the “modern” UFO era began, then you can start to get a sense of how these small, remote, yet significant events can create ripples that turn into a choppy coalescence of cultural and societal waves. As Vallee and Terence McKenna have stated, these events also function as memes. Memes injected into the psyche and memory of the observer. The relation of their experience to peers and researchers further copies the meme to others. The meme spreads ideas that come to ideation, concepts and truths that eventually result in downstream behavior or actual. Or it could simply be that certain beliefs just need to be held for widespread adoption in advance of future planned events.

Events that have made their way into the mass culture, such as the 2004 Nimitz Carrier strike group, Cash-Landrum, Roswell and Rendlesham Forest/Bentwaters AFB are rife with symbolic memes and lore at this point. No matter how much of the actual events have been recopied, retold and distorted, the memes associated with the events survive and grow. As such, we must consider that the intent to create evolving meme structures and narratives in the mass consciousness of our species is an objective of the intelligence behind the UFO phenomenon.

The Difficulty Analyzing CEIV – Abduction Cases

We have been hesitant to delve into the UFO abduction topic due to the high level of unfactual contamination inherent in this corner of ufology. Abduction cases are subject to large amounts of hoax, alternative causes such as sleep paralysis/night terrors and an absence of physical evidence (analysis of materials removed from the bodies of abductees are not been convincing).

Still, we are not discounting the veracity of the niche as a whole. Thus if any consideration is given to performing analysis we must first establish those cases or materials that contain acceptable degrees of probability.

Note, we are utilizing the Vallee Classification system. We discern CEIII from abduction/CEIV. CEIII (contact w/occupants) is of enthusiastic interest because in virtually all cases the craft occupant(s) is seen entering or exiting the craft. In all cases the ufo craft is in observable proximity to the occupant. Typically there is a mental, physical and visual transaction that occurs within the event. This area is extremely fertile for research into correlated meanings and data pertaining to conditions present during the event.

The abduction scenario, CEIV as it is typically classified, is frequently associated with bedroom scenarios where the abductee is taken in the middle of the night to a different location such as a nearby craft. There are hardly any correlated witnesses to the abduction of the craft, even when some of these events occur in populated suburban or urban municipalities. This is problematic for hard research. Abduction accounts given by the victims can be analyzed at a high level for trend identification and word frequency as can any other corpus of documents.

We are more concerned with the quality of the root events itself. The nature of this type of experience simply does not lend itself well to high degrees of probability the event occurred. That is not to say the realm is filled with mostly liars, though as mentioned quite a few of them exist; it is more so that there lies very little tangible foundational evidence with which to justify the analysis.

However, if we were to focus on this niche of ufology, careful selection of documentation to build the corpus would occur. While we find him extremely interesting, we do not know if Whitley Strieber’s books and interviews/transcripts would make the cut. John Mack’s work, maybe. Betty Andreasson, probably, we found Raymond Fowler’s documentation and investigation to be compelling.

It is food for thought and some abduction scenario overlap can be found in CEIII cases. As such, we expect at some point to delve into this murky portion of ufology proceeding with extra caution.

Are We Truly Ready?

On a recent episode of Coast to Coast AM with George Noory, longtime Disclosure advocate Stephen Bassett posits that the Pentagon UFO report scheduled for June will provide enough information to compel congressional hearings. The witnesses consisting of US military service members such as Cmdr. David Fravor and other solid members of our armed forces are already lined up. Luis Elizondo has spent the last 3 ½ years locating and interviewing them. If events come about in this manner, the hearings will be the biggest television event in history.

Let us add to the speculative fun. If indeed the topic of UAP and US military/government/intelligence organizations becomes the subject of official inquiry in the US Congress, then how soon will other foreign governments begin to hold similar hearings or begin to further declassify their records? We know the former USSR held extensive UFO investigative material. South American governments and France have been quite open with their programs created to study UFO’s. China has reported amazing sightings in the last 20 years, what does their government know?

Note we are not attributing UAP objects to the aforementioned governments. Anyone who has passively paid attention to ufology the last 40 years knows all nations have encountered these craft at civilian and military levels. Theories that these objects point of origin are from an adversarial government while logical to present in the context of due diligence, ultimately fall flat. Are we all investigating ourselves? The US military is buzzing their own fighter jets and ships at high risk of accident to test out their fancy exotic technologies? And they’ve been doing this since the foo fighter waves of World War 2? Ditto for all the other superpowers who also possess these miracle weapons? Nothing is outside of the realm of possibility as we suspect our species will soon know more intimately than ever, but this theory has an extremely small measure of viability.

The June report from the Pentagon will need to state one of these 3 options. The craft belong to America, the craft belong to foreign governments or the craft belong to a non-human intelligence. This narrative expectation has already been established in the mainstream media frenzy on this topic that has captured most of the public’s imagination in the last 60 days.

Most Americans believe some form of extraterrestrial life exists, many more believe this lifeform interacts with our planet and species. The revelation of a non-human lifeform possessing super advanced technologies that routinely buzz our skies is not going to be a massive game changer in their day to day lives. It is not going to cause a panic or individual internal turmoil. Or will it?

The psychology of certainty is a tricky thing. We wish there was a less morbid analogy to think of but let’s consider cancer. Everyone knows that cancer exists, that it takes lives, impacts others, and yet most people unaffected carry on with their day to day existence. Until you receive the life-threatening diagnosis, then everything changes. The reality of the situation changes the individual’s entire mode of operation, worldview in most cases, as the ramification

affects both person and loved ones. What we want to focus here is on the psychological impact – the tendency for people to develop a desire to make things right, to apply an uncommon introspection to their life review, and even spiritual growth, or a confluence of even negative emotions can occur as well. The bottom line is, the psychological makeup of the individual changes drastically when the reality “out there with someone else” is now applied to them.

It’s easy to believe in UFOs and go about your day to day affairs with little to no thought given to what that actually means because it isn’t a fact you have to deal with yet. And your friends and family aren’t talking about it either. We imagine for most Americans it is not a topic one spends time deeply in thought over – but most Americans have seen enough evidence on TV, Internet and through personal anecdotes, popular culture, to come to a belief that NHI exist and are visiting this planet. Now on to pay some bills and call the plumber! We acknowledge a belief but the vagaries of the day are where we spend most of our brain capital.

Until a startling truth of profound multivariate ramifications arrives as fact it is human nature to move forward unaffected. This is useful and necessary. It’s called not living in fear of something that hasn’t happened yet.

But when that startling truth becomes fact. Then what? Are we truly prepared to deal with the knowledge we are not alone?

If you are a person of faith, how does this fact impact the assessment of your religion? Will it change your view of God? If agnostic or atheist, will it bolster your existing viewpoint or degrade it?

How will you view your importance in the world? Will it affect your opinion of the veracity of the human race? Will it change your opinion regarding the future of our species?

Will you consider how this will change the world your children will live in? Will it provide an answer to some questions you have pondered for many years? Will it change your view of social systems? Values? Morals? What will be the socio-economic ramifications knowing there is technology in our skies that appears to utilize no source of energy other than perhaps gravity which is in abundance?

Will it change your view of authority structures? How will it alter your view of governments? How do your human rights align with those of an apparently superior NHI? Do they change?

The rabbit hole can indeed go deep. We cannot say with certainty what the June report holds but it is probably a good idea for citizens of this planet to begin to truly ponder what it means to them personally if the confirmation of the active presence of a non-human intelligence on this planet is finally established as undeniable fact.

Opinion: The Tide is Turning

I recently noted how interest in UFOs is likely to attract those who are living a “life of the mind.” Royal, nation, economic and military duties could qualify as requiring the qualities of a life of the mind so it is not surprising to learn that the recently departed Prince Philip of England had an extensive UFO library. He was known to have met with witnesses too. By the accounts read, the subject was of major interest to him for much of his life.

Curious people, sometimes trained in analytical or critical thinking skills are drawn to mysteries that display a preponderance of viable evidence. Unfortunately, due to decades of government designed and media enabled misinformation/propaganda directed toward ufology and its enthusiasts one is subject to frequent ridicule or wariness from those who hold little to no interest. Think of it this way – in polite conversation one can discuss SETI legitimately with strangers, even the yes/no question of belief in aliens. But once you delve into the meat of the subject along the lines of the ETH vs IDH, quantum and psychological aspects and its existential implications for the whole of humanity then you are likely to quickly find yourself standing alone. In the writer’s case, it has contributed to the loss of relationships. “He’s into all that weird stuff.” Yes, forgive my curiosity regarding a phenomenon that apparently alters the fabric of our consensus reality. I find it infinitely more intellectually rewarding than who won the latest sing-off competition on TV or that new fizzy alcohol drink.

Of course, Ufology hasn’t done itself too many favors either with the multitude of charlatans and hoaxsters who have permeated the field for decades and continue to do so today. But this is unfortunately now true of almost all fields of study and reporting that have become tainted with mandatory templates of political thought and agenda. Ufology, left in the dark, or worse, repeatedly ridiculed as tin-foil hat territory for decades and shunned by most serious scientific research has been left to its own devices for years. If you want to find a DIY community, look at Ufology. By and large the more legitimate aspects of the community have said to science, “If you are not going to research this seriously, we will!” And they have done so with varying degrees of success.

It has been a long slog, but the paradigm may be changing. We are finally now in the zone of legitimacy given by the mainstream media. Despite their faults and past sins, they play an important role in changing attitudes and giving you the floor at a cocktail party without fear of haranguing. Culturally uncool things loved by a few, misunderstood or shorn by the majority, have a way of reversing their perception by the masses until it seems everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon. The rock group Rush or cryptocurrencies come to mind. For once, the skeptics can play defense.

The coming Pentagon report on UAP research may be a watershed moment. The recent new leaks of photos and videos taken by military personnel ahead of the report lend credence (probably by design) to the growing momentum of disclosure. We’ve already had tacit disclosure as has been detailed here. Will we get official disclosure? Probably not, but wordsmithing by government PR personnel is an artform they have had decades to perfect. Read the words carefully when they arrive. Researchers, the tide is turning and your day of validation is nigh.
